Alice Walton’s Camp War Eagle
Choosing the Best Summer Camp For Your Child

With a myriad of over 60 diverse activities to choose from, including football, gymnastics, water skiing, horseback riding, archery, rock climbing, pottery, cheerleading, and blobbing, Alice Walton’s Camp War Eagle takes summer camping to a whole different level. Every summer, around 2,400 children from ages 7 to 17 head to Beaver Lake, Arkansas.

Every camper’s sense of self, love of country, affinity for nature, and relationship with God are nurtured and developed in the course of a summer. With its formation program, the counselors that guided the campers through the summer will continue to support the campers through the rest of the year. The campers will have the time of their lives through outdoor adventures as they strengthen their devotion to the Lord.

Camp War Eagle is ready to let kids from financially strapped families (those who make less than $60,000 a year) be part of this life-changing experience. Children from families with an income less than $60,000/year and with a strong academic and community service record can have the $2,000 camp fee completely waived.

All of this is made possible with the generosity of one of Arkansas’ prominent individuals, Alice Walton. Coming from a long family tradition of giving, Alice Walton continues today to serve those less fortunate through the Walton Family Foundation. Alice Walton’s strong values in her Christian faith, concern for the environment, and patriotism have guided her various humanitarian endeavors. The Walton Family Foundation programs include education reform, economic development, and environmental conservation.
